inputs: affordability/food, tailgating, team quality, atmosphere, accessibility

Bills won the tailgating. Were #2 in affordability. Enough to give them the 8th overall spot, despite middle of the pack grades everywhere else.

SO our team sucks, but our tailgating is great. I don't know how to take that.

We should be ranked higher in atmosphere.

87% rank the tailgating as "Excellent" and almost 80% tailgate for 3 hours or more before the game. That's insane.

This sums it up right here:

There is nothing wrong with tailgating for more than 3 hours.

MIami should be up there in comfort. You can actually stretch your entire body laying on the empty seats. No lines getting in/out , going to use the mens room and when trying to buy food.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with it.

But it might explain the other thread regarding Bills fans being the worst behaved in the NFL.

it's not that funny when you wake up and see finfans rollerblading in orange and teal thongs around the stadium.

Here's a picture of their colorful fans . This is LT tailgating.

What the heck? Are they the Gay-Angels, or the Dolphins?

We should be ranked higher in atmosphere.

agreed. how the colts in a DOME are at #3 while we are #15 in atmosphere absolutely baffles me. enduring the elements is what makes nfl football amazing. it just gets that "sterile" feel when played in a dome...not exactly my cup 'o tea

The rankings are based on the new Colts stadium which isn't always a dome.

do you think they would leave it open in a blizzard during the playoffs? didnt think so. thats what REAL nfl football is all about

ya, i agree. if we are playing well, we are definitely some of the most raucous fans in the league. it is natural that if a team is losing, the crowd will be quieter, but if its close we are the best at cheering on the team. this goes a long way towards creating an awesome atmosphere.

i think atmosphere is sort of related to environment since if your team is winning, its easier to be loud. know what im sayin?

I agree.

However, from what I can tell, these rankings are based on what fans said that attend the game. I'm guessing most Indy fans are scared of elements and like the comfort of the dome. Therefore, they rate the atmosphere really high.

Now that the team quality is better, we have it all: super tailgating, good team, and great affordability. What more could a true football fan want?

If you need shopping, non-football entertainment, etc., I would suggest the Galleria Mall or Darien Lakes, or a game in the new Dallas or New Jersey sports/entertainment complexes.

I prefer my football "straight."
