All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!

It's a great point, however, mass protection with only three receivers running patterns won't work forever. Teams will catch onto that in a few weeks. So Schonert needs to still mix it up. But your basic premise is correct -- when Edwards has time, he's very efficient.

Jon
It's "max" protection.
I agree that could cause a problem, but:
1) it's tough to cover people for 5-6 seconds, no matter how outnumbered you have them. There are always holes to find.
2) What I saw the Bills do a few times was keep those extra guys in, then if they saw the pass rushers had already been picked up, they sliped out into routes, becoming the outlet receiver.
But, yeah, they still have to spread the field and have 4-5 wide once in a while to show a different look and prove to the defense they can be successful that way, too.
