No biggie? Did you watch Paestch last year? Have you watched Rivet so far this season? There's a world of difference.

2 weeks is like 5 games. We will be fine. Should I take this as the end to the season?

They said two weeks minimum. It will probably be more like 3-4 weeks, it always is.

Thu Oct 23, 2008 Sabres Wild
Sat Oct 25, 2008 Sabres Avalanche
Mon Oct 27, 2008 Senators Sabres
Thu Oct 30, 2008 Lightning Sabres
Sat Nov 1, 2008 Capitals Sabres
Mon Nov 3, 2008 Sabres Devils

Six games in the next 2 weeks. 3 home, 3 road, 2 WC opponents, 1 division opponent, 3 conference non-division opponents. Of those teams, Tampa Bay is the only one that sucks. The rest are all decent or better.

Is it the end of the season? Hardly. But it could completely negate the fast start. Remember, Hecht, Connolly and Gaustad are still out too.

The Avalanche pretty much suck right now too. I should be starting in goal for them.

Hopefully one of two things happen:

1. Weber gets recalled. (Rivet can go on IR to make room if the Sabres want to use a recall move this early)
2. Paestch plays like he did two years ago.

BTW, who wears the C and the A with Rivet out?

They have not said.

I would imagine, with 4 A's (Spacek, Pominville, Hecht, and Roy) that the three healthy one's will have letters. Not sure who will wear the C though.

Weber most likely won't be called. Portland only has 6 healthy defensemen.

I would much rather have Weber in there then Paestch.

He has been dealing with this all week is what I heard on WGR. Finally got to him enough that he broke down and got the surgery.

If that's true, he was playing really well despite being hurt. Imagine how he'll be when he's totally healthy.

Found a link to a article that brings it up.

The injury, which wasn’t sustained during a game, gradually became worse as Rivet continued to play.
“It’s something that needed to be done because it wasn’t going to go away,” coach Lindy Ruff said. “He’s been hobbling pretty good.”

Plus in this time frame we should get back a couple of the injured guys. Connolly is close, Hecht is another week or so and Gausted same boat.
