Hmm..
Schobel still cant practice, and Butler is likely doubtful for the game.

What does that have to do with Whitner and Scott?

well schobel has now lost so much weight he was going to try to transition to Safety.

just because your more important to the zone than LtFinFan66 doesnt give you the right to exclude important details to a Bills story, sir.

BTW, I like Whitner at FS, but I'm not quite ready to trust Scott just yet.. Though SD game was a good start.

Im befuddled as to what's wrong with ko Simpson.. I really liked this kid.

I wanted to segment the stories for discussions sake. We talk about the Whitner position change here and have another thread(possibly the 10 already in service) to discuss the Schobel injury. I also figured Butler can be covered in the Fowler/Preston threads.

Scott is now 225 lbs. and can physically play & run with any TE.

I like it.

For Miami Scott might work out good because we will probably be seeing a lot of thr run this Sunday and he is bigger and more physical than Simpson.

I was thinking the same thing.

It looks like a reaction to the "wildcat" formation.

"I think a lot of it will depend on what we want to do in that week," Jauron said

That makes sense.

Donte Whitner will now make the probowl. Watch his tackles, INT, FF, and pass breakups sky rocket if hes allowed to move around.

The Bills have terriffic depth at safety. That also gives them lots of flexibility. In some ways, I can understand this move. Scott hasn't impressed a lot of observers prior to coming to the Bills, but he's got the size and physicality to man the strong safety posiion, and he played CB in col.lege, so he has some background in pass coverage. I like Ko Simpson's athleticism, but we knew coming out of college he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. While he's had time to learn the system, it may just be that the Bills are better off with a little more smarts at the position that makes the coverage calls for the defense.

i really just think it is a matchup deal. scott will be better in run protection against the wildcat and with both of there good RBs we need more run protection. on obvious passing downs i am sure ko will go in.

Scott did a pretty darn good job against San Diego's quality TE last week too.

I love the move, it puts our best players (currently) out on the field and puts them in position to make plays.

So at what point does Ko play? When we're playing a high school team? It seems like a convenient excuse to sit Ko and not have to break it to him that he's not playing up to par. I think the coaches have said he's playing OK, but just OK and he has a lot to learn. Hopefully this sets a fire up his butt and he starts playing.
