Per ESPN had 3 procedures to try to eradicate the infection and the graft they installed may not hold up. They may need to redo the entire procedure.

They were speculating that if the procedure needed to be redone that he will probably miss the start of the season.
He will not be the same right away, see Peyton.
There are also reports that the Patriots are not happy because they wanted the procedure done in Boston, but Brady insisted on doing it in LA.Comment
