What a disappointing effort. The Bills were the last team in the NFL to play a division game. We finally got a shot against a mediocre Dolphins team, and no one showed up. The defense designed to prevent big plays gave up big plays. The smart QB who doesn't turn the ball over coughed the ball up several times.
The large, expensive OL lost battles at crucial moments. Special teams were anything but.
And the coaching staff had their heads up their asses. Jauron just received a contract extension- after today's game, it's hard to see why he deserves it.The large, expensive OL lost battles at crucial moments. Special teams were anything but.
This game felt like last year. Every time the Fish had a 3rd and 1, I had ZERO confidence that the Bills would stop it. When the Fish took the lead late, the team felt like they were already out of it and had nothing left to come back.
The good:
-Lynch.
-Evans.
-Peters, other than the safety (which I put more on Dockery anyway).
-Preston did well filling in for Fowler.
-Copeland Bryan made a few plays.
The Bad:
-Dockery had an absolutely terrible game. He was getting beat all day long, he basically whiffed on Porter on the safety, and he had the holding penalty.
-Edwards did not protect the ball well at all.
-I am sick and tired of Robert Royal. This guy consistently makes mental mistakes. He doesn't keep his head in the game. This position absolutely needs to be upgraded in the off-season (although I feel like I've said that for the last 6 off-seasons).
-McGee got destroyed by Ted Ginn Jr. TED @#$%ING GINN. There is absolutely no excuse for that.
-there was no pressure whatsoever by the DL.
-The defensive coaches were pathetic. The D overpursued on play and basically bit on every single play fake by Miami.
-The offensive coaches were pathetic. Lynch had 61 yards on 13 carries, which is a 4.7 ypc average. Yet, he only had 13 carries? And using Jackson on the goal line instead of Lynch is just mind-boggling.
-The Special Teams coaching was pathetic. Miami is one of the worst teams in the league on kick coverage, yet they shut down Buffalo's return attack.
-The overall coaching was pathetic. The team took more penalties than usual, did not protect the ball well, and did not adjust well late in the game.
