Sorry, I go for it there.

If my offensive line can't get me that one yard, they don't deserve to be starting.

And even if its a failed 4th down try, you leave your opponent on the 1.

Terrible decision by Jauron early.

Disagree. On the road, you take the points.

I go for it too, on the road you play to win, thats not FG's thats TD's. You absolutely challenge your OL and your RB on that play.

F yeah. You pound that ball in there.

We saw far too much of the old Bills yesterday....including this estrogen laden decision which set the tone for the rest of the game.

Valid point.

But against a 1-15 team, you hammer it down their throats.

That is not the reason we lost. We had a 9 point lead AFTER that.

That was last year. Miami 3 victories this year came against Buffalo 5-2, NE 5-2, and SD 3-5. Miami is clearly better than what most Bills fans made them out to be.

Lynch was hurt at the start of the game, which explains his absence from the end of that series.

That whole sequence was disastrous.

First, Lynch should have been in there, not Jackson.
Second, you have to go for it on 4th down. The D just got pushed all the way down the field by Miami's O, so we really needed the 7. Worst case scenario is that you do the D a favor by putting Miami in a HUGE hole.
Third, it never should have mattered because the biggest OL in the league should be able to get enough push for someone's grandma to get 1 yard, let alone Fred Jackson. But they couldn't.

well thats good to hear at least, because I called my buddy and was like "did I miss something??? is lynch hurt? why did we run fred jackson 3 times on the goal line?!?"

I agree. That run at the goal line was as conservative as can be. We didn't even try a playaction.

If you can't get a TD running it on 3 straight plays, what makes you think the 4th. time would've been any different???....

The element of surprise. Miami wouldn't be looking run the 4th time.

Miami just scored 7 on a drive full of big plays. We drove it back down and if we get stopped on 4th and goal Miami will be pumped. Pennington drives 99 yards for another score ... the game's already over in the 1st quarter.

I disagree Cas.

You're 5-1. You're clearly a better team.

You come to the line and yell, "We're running right up the gut, try and stop us Muther****ers!"

Instead we kick a friggin FG.

That's Jauron.

That was Levy.

That's why there's no trophy at 1BD.

The playcalling leading to the FG sucked...they should have gone for it on and 4th AND been morecreative on 2nd and 3rd.

I disagree historian the repercussions of leaving there with no points are not worth the risk to get an extra 4 points. Take the points on the road in this situation for sure.

In a playoff game..yes, I take the points.

In a divisional game against an inferior opponent....I go for it.

keep in mind just how close they are to 5-2.....

they kicked our ass yesterday, and are the better team :(

I'd have Lynch running the ball on first, second, and third down.
And 4th down. Think about it. How could Lynch fail to pickup one yard on four consecutive tries when all his runs he's hit in the backfield first anyways?

I don't think they are really that inferior. A little behind us developmentally yes but they've proven in every game this season they are going to bring it as a team. They play hard & smart. They play as a team. If you slip up they will make you pay. We slipped up. I can't believe I'm going to say this...and I haven't said this in many, many years...but I respect the 2008 Dolphins.

99% of the time i would take the points there. i initially thought about wanting them to goforit but once they decided to kick it i was happy. it was early and you dont want to come up empty there on the road

as it turned out the bills were ahead by two scores later on and should have been able to close out that game so it was the right choice at the time. but with ted ginn enhancing his hof credentials against a joke of a bills passing defense, and the oline turning the mediocre fish front four into the steel curtain that whole thing went to ****

but dick made the right call on the first fg imo

i dunno...

they certainly did their part in mental errors that helped us to get the 16 points...especially in the first half with all their defensive penalties that bailed us out multiple times.

their rookie merling bailed us out twice on 3rd down back to back offsides is one example...

Or you get stuffed like the Giants did on 4th and 1 yesterday. Not that it mattered in the endgame.

Or you get stuffed like Cleveland did last week in Washington and end up losing the game by 3 points.

Moral of the story? Don't chase points.

The play calling was vanilla. Better play calling, regardless the down, gets the TD.

Better execution on 1st through 3rd down and you get the TD. What makes you think they could execute better on 4th to automatically get the 7?

It is complete BS. It should have not made it to forth down in the first place. On third down they should have spread the field and had Trent run it in same as Losman did in AZ
