Strained Achillies is what the announcers said yesterday. That's never a good thing. If he rushed back, it leads to you know what.

I wouldn't mind giving Johnson a chance. In the limited action I have seen from him he seems to be a similar player to Reed.

Hardy needs to step up.

He does but I do understand that WRs take some time. Maybe mix in Roscoe a little more.

This is a throwaway year for Hardy unfortunately. WRs very rarely become impact players in the their first year.

“Jason Whittle felt okay (Monday),” said head coach Dick Jauron. “Josh left the game and that’s a sprain of the Achilles and the ankle. We won’t know much until the week progresses.”

i am not finding a link that reports surgery...

Josh Reed (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=3564) is out indefinitely with injuries to his ankle and Achilles tendon, leaving the Buffalo Bills (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=buf) minus one of their most reliable third-down receivers.<!-- begin whole table -->
<!-- end sidebar table -->Though coach Dick Jauron wouldn't say Monday how much time Reed might miss, it generally takes players two to three weeks to recuperate from such injuries, depending on their severity. Jauron also didn't indicate which ankle Reed hurt late in the second quarter of a 25-16 loss at Miami on Sunday.

It's not beyond the realm of possibility that I may have misunderstood the broadcast... I have "the road rage" so I'm not always listening with great comprehension while I'm driving.

The Bills consider Josh Reed out indefinitely with injuries to his Achilles and ankle.
Reed is expected to miss at least 2-3 weeks. James Hardy will probably take over as the Bills' starting flanker, but slot receiver Roscoe Parrish will be a better bet for targets until Reed returns. Trent Edwards hasn't shown any kind of faith in Hardy, who has just seven catches this season.

Not good news at all, but it could of been much worst!...At least he'll be back within a month or so instead of being out for the rest of the season.

Ok, if he had surgery on the injury it's worse than just a "sprain" and he'd be out more than 2-3 weeks.

I'm confused.

Which is it? A sprain? Or surgery?

There is nothing on bb.com about surgery, and although the title of draz's article says he had surgery, the article itself doesn't.

Stay tuned.

I haven't heard anything about surgery either. I don't think that's the case.

Reed left Sunday's game with injuries to his ankle and achilles tendon and underwent surgery Monday.
