    Goose returns

Paul Gaustad will return to the line-up when the Sabres host Tampa Bay at 7 p.m. Thursday. He said the only hindrance his injured thumb will provide is not being able to shake his glove off, as he'll wear a soft cast on his thumb. He doesn't expect it to hurt his ability to take face-offs, and he skated with Patrick Kaleta and Andrew Peters at practice.

Great news! Should help on face-offs, add a physical presence and help the PK.

Get Peters the **** off the ice already. I would much rather have Ellis out there.

        Here is a solid line.

        Kaleta Goose Mair

        Then the rest

        Vanek Roy Stafford
        Paille Hecht Pommer
        Kotalik Connolly Max

With this lineup Mcarther is the odd man out. IMO Trade Max and plug in Mcarthur.

That assumes all forwards are healthy. That is unlikely to happen anytime soon.

the only thing I don't like about that is we only have 3 tough forwards and that puts them all on the same line.

Yeah but I would rather have 3 competant scoring lines and one banger line that still has some skill. In reality what are they doing now? The only tough guy sprinkled onto a scoring line is Mair and IMO he doesn't fit that line at all. He is doing a fine job but would be better suited to go balls out on a forecheck.

max is still being max in a lot of ways but he is quietkly having a decent year. He draws a lot of penalties and is one of the few players that has come to play with high energy every night.

Peters is an unskilled waste of foreskin. I can't even remember the last time he won a fight convincingly.

Agreed, but if he would have whipped Neal's ass good the other night it would have made it more tolerable.
