Brief Tagliabue tour stops in Cincinnati

CINCINNATI (AP) -- Standing in the stadium he promoted, commissioner Paul Tagliabue generously praised Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis on Thursday and again predicted a return to glory for the NFL's worst team.

Tagliabue told civic and business leaders at Paul Brown Stadium that things are turning around for a team that's been without a winning season since 1990.

With Lewis and owner Mike Brown sitting nearby, Tagliabue said the league is pulling for them to field a winner.

"For the NFL, to have the Bengals back with a full house roaring is something that I hope to be part of," Tagliabue told a luncheon honoring local high school coaches. "So whenever you want me back for a game, Mike and Marvin, send me an e-mail or call the cell phone, and I'll be ready to come back and be part of this renaissance here in Cincinnati."
