SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- The mayor of this South Texas city says the Dallas Cowboys have accepted one of two proposals to get the NFL team back to the Alamodome for training camp this summer.
Mayor Ed Garza said Thursday that he believes a proposed agreement stands a good chance of passing when it comes up for a vote, even though such a deal still may draw criticism from some council members.
"Based on the direction we gave staff, these are the points they could support the most," Garza -- a strong proponent of hosting the training camp -- said in Friday's editions of the San Antonio Express-News.
The Cowboys have not yet furnished city officials with anything in writing and Garza said he was uncertain which of the two proposals was preferred.
