Injury update (http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2008/11/02/injury-update-6/)

By Chris Brown - Posted November 2nd, 2008
Donte Whitner has a right shoulder injury and had his arm in a sling.
Jabari Greer had x-rays on his left hand after the game, the results of which are not known.
Jason Whittle had a back injury suffered when he recovered the fumble by Lee Evans late in the game.
Marshawn Lynch was just nauseous in the first half.
We’ll have a full update on Buffalobills.com at coach Jauron addresses the media on Monday around noon.

Bad time to lose emotional leader (http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2008/11/03/bad-time-to-lose-emotional-leader/)

By Chris Brown - Posted November 3rd, 2008
There’s no question that Donte Whitner is Buffalo’s emotional leader on defense. Losing him to a separated shoulder (http://www.buffalobills.com/news/article-1/separated-shoulder-likely-to-keep-whitner-out/33ba00c5-e2f1-436d-bf39-83fc1963acb6)at a time when Buffalo is facing adversity does not serve the best interests of the team in terms of bouncing back from a two-game losing streak.
The big concern with him out of the lineup is obviously the nickel package. If Youboty cannot return from a lingering foot injury this week, Leodis McKelvin or Reggie Corner will have to play in the slot against Wes Welker.
Both McKelvin and Corner got time in the slot during training camp and the preseason. It’s time for them to show the coaching staff what they’ve got. Obviously you’d like to have more experience on the field in a pivotal divisional game like the one the Bills have this week. But you’ve got to go with what you’ve got.
The rookies are on the roster for a reason. The coaching staff believed they were good enough to play and now they’ll have to play them.

Schobel now week to week (http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2008/11/03/schobel-now-week-to-week/)

By Chris Brown - Posted November 3rd, 2008
Already out the past three games, Aaron Schobel doesn’t appear to be ready to return any time soon after Dick Jauron’s latest designation for the team’s top pass rusher.
Initially Dick Jauron said that Schobel was day-to-day and that more tests would be conducted this week on his ailing left foot which has a strained ligament.
But he later stated that Schobel’s status is worse than day-to-day.
“I don’t know with Aaron,” said Jauron. ”That’s why he and Josh and Donte… Aaron was more day to day, but it’s kind of moved a little bit so it may be week to week too with those other guys.”
Missing two of your three most talented defensive players is going to be difficult to overcome. Buffalo’s defense knows how to play short handed and they’ve held things together for the most part, but this is gonig to be one tough row to hoe.

Jabari Greer okay (http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2008/11/03/jabari-greer-okay/)

By Chris Brown - Posted November 3rd, 2008
According to Dick Jauron, Jabari Greer is fine. Greer took x-rays after the game on his left wrist even though he was able to finish the game.
“We think Jabari’s okay,” said Jauron. ”I think it was a wrist. He came back and played.”
When asked specifically if x-rays were negative on Greer’s wrist Jauron said.
“Jabari is fine as far as I know.”
So at the very least the Bills will have both of their veteran cornerbacks healthy for Sunday’s game at New England.

Leodis or Corner on Wes Welker..

HOLY **** that's a recipe to see this game get UGLY. I'm not the biggest Whitner fan, but this is why we can ill-afford to lose him now.

I hope Youboty can come back or Welker's having a monster day.

I hope Youboty will be back too. Leading up to the Jets game, it sounded like Youboty was going to play for sure. Then he was inactive. I really really hope Youboty will be back this weekend. We need him.
