Is Brandon Pettigrew The 2009 Pat Moran 1st round TE he lobbies for?

    Brandon Pettigrew

I just saw Mike Mayock showing his highlights and talking about him & i was thinking "I hope that dude Pat Moran from The Zone isn't watching this".. I am wondering,,,--Is this the TE that that same group of Zoners gets repetitive with posting that we should use our 1st to get him?"???? Like Vernon Davis,,Greg olson,,Last years? Carlson? Matelius Bennett?

BAD~~MEDIOCRE--or even AVERAGE teams -DO-NOT,,,CAN-NOT use their 1st round pick on a Tight End.((of Guard,or Center) I thought this was football 101.. I mean i learned that about skilled positions in the draft when i was 20, back in early early 90's.. Isn't(assumtion time) everyone on that same mentality?

Would rather have: DE, C, FS, CB, LB, OG over any TE.

I agree, lets take another RB or CB! Or maybe even another #2 WR!

Well, IMO you take the dude that upgrades you the most. Looking at your weekest position is the best way to do that. In fact, I will take it one step farther..... I think drafting by "best player available" is a crock of crap. A straight up myth. What are they supposed to say, "Well, or TEs suck, that is why we reached a little"?

That said, DE really might be our weakest link.

Pat, come on now.. you know dmn well you're as PRO-we need TE as it gets..Np pun so i ask you "Please bro, keep you're guard down"...

Would rather have: DE, C, FS, CB, LB, OG over any TE.
I agree with the exception of CENTER. The FS would have to be like a Sean Taylor type, hype, skill etc. And Most likely from UM. But Guard would again like FS have to be something very special. Like The Eagles Sean Andrews who converted to Tackle. LT at that i believe.. Or last years Brandon something. The awesome Guard that the Chiefs selected.. But normally GUARD is nothing but a lineman not good enough skill wise & ESP not good enough Physicaly. That's why Guards are always looking like fat slobs etc..

              =Edwards Era] Flat out disagree.
Edwards Era, Why would you just say you disagree then haul-ass? Tell me what ya disagree with since there we're many things i said in my post bro....

---As of right now. This week...If i had to list our draft needs and lets say for conversation that we have the 14th pick. since we are seriously on a downward spiral :grr:

              --14th pick---
              In order~~~
-And of course assuming we draft on need, which for most positions it's ******ED unless it's a position a rooki can jump in from day-1.. If not, then why draft based on that offse3asons need if that said player won't be on a elite/capable starter/contributer for couple or more seasons???

-But here goes my need list
-#1 biggest need is DE---As much as i love Kelsay & Denney & ESP Schobel, i admit/confess that we need a better pass rush. I want all of em to stay on teh team, but we need better production from the LEFT side... I say we move Schobel to LE where he can frakkin D-O-M-I-N-A-T-E. And man would he. He is a fumble causer and relentless!!! But mainly we need a high motor RE like Schobel is/was.. Michael Strahan & Schobel are the best examples of the kind of motor i have in mind..A guy who plays just as hard on 3rd down in the 4th quarter as 1st down in the 1st quarter...

---OLB--Actually i think OLB is a 2nr or 3rd round need. We have POZ,DiGeorgio,Kamika,Ellison, I guess this was a super stacked position before Crowell F-*&^D us...Crowell is 100% gone IMO.. And OLB is the kind of poistion that you need to be strong at or your screwed. SO lets hope we could score Lorinitus or someone like POZ is to MLB..Lorinitus is the only LB i know of since i could care less about college until draft magazine time...

RT--Man Langston Walker sucks.. And i say that with experience watching him play.. When i was watching the Jets game and the Dolphins game with my wife i noticed he was only blocking in 1 instance, instead of making sure the LE or LB was outta the play from start to finish.. I dunno how he is on running plays. i honestly admit that i havent focused on him in the run game,,,but he is a major liability in the passing game..If anyone rewatches any game so far, just focus on Langston Walker on passing plays.. What he does 7 times outta 10 is only only block for 1 second and his guy is what forces Trent Edwards to throw the ball or take the sack...But mostly he's throwing the pass premature....And those

              -----------------------------------------------------------------------------

--It's my hostest opinion that RT & LT and pretty much all offensive lineman are best when the pedigree is at it's highest..Like a kid projected to be a very high 1st rounder,,,,or a kid from a major university who was really very highly recruited and he played all 3 or 4 years at a high level from a very powerful school like Alabama,Arkansas,USC,UM,Oklahoma etc. You get the point...Where de'S ARE ALMOST AS GOOD IN THE 2ND OR 3RD,,,OR from smaller schools like Texas Tech or TCU,FAU etc...So although LT/RT isn't as big a need, but if there's a highly rated TACKLE on the board from USC or Oklahoma then i'd say grab him and go DE in the 2nd round even though DE is sighty more pressing......Who agrees with that philosophy? and disagrees

I'd like to see how Fine plays the rest of the year. If he continues to improve, I wouldn't mind starting him in 2009 and beyond. The Bills still need help on the interior of the offensive line and at DE and OLB, and I would think the Bills would target those positions first in the draft.

Guards are not always fat slobs, look at Steve Hutchinson, Brandon Alberts, Andrews as you listed and Steinbach amongst many. You can't tell me if a talent that has the potential to become anything like the guys I listed that he isn't worth taking in the 1st round. I could point out some pretty successful centers taken in the 1st round as well.. Mangold, Spencer and Kalil from recent years. I'm sure some draft pundits will point out busts as well but that's true for anything. However, I can't think of too many TE's from the 1st round that have lived up to their billing in recent years.. I know there has to be a couple but the names aren't coming to me right now.

Pettigrew is a 2nd Round TE, the guy name you should be talking about (assuming he comes out) is Jermaine Gresham out of Oklahoma.

Brandon Pettigrew is a playmaker. Ive watched him closely for two years now. If he hadnt had that injury this year hed be considered a top 10 top 5 pick. he might still be one. Im an OSU fan and I go to all the OSU games, so I watch him here in Oklahoma and hes a good player. But we dont need him in the first, especially if Fine is just fine.

Not it won't, he's far too gifted of an athlete and so superior at his position that teams aren't going to care. He'll be gone top 20.
