After nine losses in a row (by a score of 288-86) and 14 in the past 15 games against New England, the Bills have a real opportunity today to end their misery against the Patriots, who are playing this season without superstar quarterback Tom Brady. And talk about timing – the Bills are desperate to make a statement against their nemesis and it comes in a game that they desperately need to win to snap out of a funk that is threatening what was once a promising season.
BILLS ON OFFENSE

In the last two games the Bills have committed seven turnovers, have been sacked seven times, have rushed for 149 yards, and have scored two offensive touchdowns. These AFC East losses to Miami and New York have not been pretty, and now the Bills go against another team that knows their personnel and their intricacies very well. Offensive coordinator Turk Schonert said this week that the only way the offense is going to get back on track is if it stops making mistakes such as turnovers, penalties, missed blocking assignments and poorly run pass routes. It's a lot to ask against a team as accomplished as the Patriots who aren't dynastic like last year, but are still the class of the division. QB Trent Edwards has to protect the ball and make better decisions, but he also needs help from an offensive line that will be tested mightily by the likes of DLs Vince Wilfork, Ty Warren and Richard Seymour. The Bills must find a way to run more effectively, but the way to attack today may be through the air against a New England secondary that is depleted by injuries. Edwards needs to utilize RBs Marshawn Lynch and Fred Jackson out of the backfield in a quick passing scheme, and someone in the WR corps has to step up and take the heat off WR Lee Evans.
