In instant demand following his release by the Buffalo Bills earlier this week, free agent cornerback Chris Watson has quickly found a new address, with ESPN.com learning that he reached a contract agreement with the Detroit Lions on Saturday evening.
The four-year veteran also had tentative visits arranged with the New England Patriots and the San Francisco 49ers, both of whom regarded him a solid candidate for a "nickel" spot, but enjoyed his meeting with Lions officials and decided he has a chance to start in a Detroit secondary that is still in flux.
Watson, 25, will sign a one-year contract with the Lions, the financial details of which were not yet available.
