View Full Version : We have to go 5-2 to make the playoffs

That just hit me that we can only lose 2 more games to have a reasonable shot at the playoffs, especially since we have dropped 3 straight division games.

I just cant see us winning 5, and i am an optimist usually.

I think reality just hit :sadwalk:

beat the Browns is a must then beat the Chiefs, 49ers, Dolphins, Jets and then Broncos and Pats....if we beat the Browns I think this has a decent shot of happening.

well, now we are playing for our lives, and it begins with the Browns. If we beat them, then we have go 4-2 against the:

Niners
Chiefs
Phins
Jets
Pats
Broncos

Its possible, obviously, but we need to get hot, and soon.

Maybe Trent will get hurt and JP will play lights out the rest of the way so that he can look attractive to his next team.
Maybe he'll try to play lights out, get injured, then Hamdan will come in and get us to the S.B.
Maybe Trent will pull his head out of his butt and play like he did in the SD game.

Our schedule is the only think that helps us. Looking at it this way makes it look a little better at least on paper. If we do make it, then we get crushed in the playoffs, but i would rather make it and get crushed than not make it at all again

true story. im so sick of "havent made it to the playoffs since 1999" being pretty much part of our name, as in the Buffalo "havent made it to the playoffs since 1999" Bills.

Wouldn't it be nice to take out the maybes and say just once, "Our coach will find a way to make this team win"?

Try not to focus on the 5-4 record: it's meaningless at this point. Instead, consider how this team is currently playing, and how they've played all year (hint: well enough to squeak out wins against bad teams and badly enough to embarass themselves against better teams).

I'm an optimist on gameday, but realistically, these guys don't have what it takes to win the majority of the remaining games. Needless to say anything can happen, but I haven't seen anything from this team to make me think that they can magically turn it on and make a run for the playoffs.

But who knows... maybe something will click, but I'll believe it when I see it.

we don't even really hold our own fate at this point. If/when JESTS beat NE this week it's over for us. At that point, outside of winning out, there won't be anything we can do to make the playoffs.

I can't believe people are still thinking playoffs at this point...Guess they haven't really watched this team play?We can still dream. I'm not saying the chances are good, but i am not ready to pack it up for the year yet.

Whats funny is that if we get a win this weekend this board will do a total turn around.

i still honestly think that 11-5 is the only way to make the playoffs... the afc east and north have the inside track with their co-division leaders both at 6-3

I'm not seeing the playoffs in this team's near future.

5-2 is out of the question considering how we have played lately.

All season I have watched a team that can't run block, that can't pass block, that can't rush the passer, that can't stop a 3rd. down to save their lives, that has a weak secondary, and that has (barely) beating garbage teams, how about you?
