Does both Preston and Whittle suck? Was Preston's good game against the Fins a fluke? How come Walker and Dockery don't seem to want to earn their money anymore? Has Peters shown up yet?

Preston and Whittle are below average without question. There is a reason why they have were tied to the bench before the injuries. Dockery is o.k. but grossly overpaid. Walker is o.k. but does not dominate in the run game the way a guy his size should. Peters is definitely playing below his ability level but is the best of the bunch.

The new line coach does not appear to be getting these players to play to their prior levels.

For this team to get to the next level the front office, in the off-season (not much they can do now), absolutely needs to find new starting caliber talent at center, defensive end and outside linebacker - whether it be through the draft, free agency, trade or some combination thereof.

Thank you for a sensible view of the OL rather than the "they all suck" attitude that many have.

Let's be honest though, these guys are definitely underperforming considering the money they are making.

The front office deserves some very close scrutiny in terms of their ability to build the lines on both sides of the line of scrimmage. As Bills fans we can complain all we want about "cash to cap" but the front office has spent large amounts of money to bring in free agents (Dockery, Walker, Fowler, Whittle), acquire high price talent through trade (Stroud) and retain existing personnel (Schobel, Peters, Kelsay, Denney). As such, it is hard to blame a lack of funds on the problem.

There is either (i) a disconnect between the front office and the coaching staff over the type of players needed for the systems the team runs, (ii) a disconnect between the coaches and the players or (iii) a disconnect between the actual talent level of the players and what the front office perceives their talent level to be.

There really is no reason why a cold weather team like Buffalo should not be designed to run and stop the run, unless you have a hall-of-fame talent at QB (i.e., Kelly).
