Trent and the offense are obviously struggling with 3-4 defenses. hell, our team has struggled with that scheme for years. So, do you think things would be different if say the Pats and Jets played a 4-3? Or is this all moot and we just suck?

What seems to be the problem with us against the 3-4 anyway? Is it our offensive scheme? Personnel? Inept coaching? A combo of both? I'm truly baffled here folks. Help me understand this

Several things- first, 3-4's require a dominant nose tackle, and neither Preston nor Fowler are good enough to handle dominant nose tackles like Jenkins or Rogers.

Second, in a 3-4 you basically have 8 guys on the field with at least some coverage ability. So, when a dominant nose tackle can create pressure up the middle while only rushing 3, it allows 8 guys to drop into coverage and gives Trent nowhere to go with the ball.

The lack of a running game makes the situation worse because it allows the LB's to take deeper drops.

So, the Bills' coaches aren't game-planning well for the 3-4 and the players aren't executing well against the 3-4.
