Did anyone else hear on sportscenter that Joe Horn wants to be traded to the Bills?

My buddy just told me about it. I checked espn.com and did not see anything about buffalo.

he did say he heard it on sportscenter but did not see it on the web.

I gotta go tell my Raiders fan friend.

He's gonna be so pissed off - he's already mad that the Bills have ammassed so much talent as it is.

Sounds like rhetoric to drive up his salary demands in N.O.

I don't seet he connections to Buffalo.

Horn is scheduled to earn a base salary of $2.7 million for 2003, with a roster bonus of $200,000 and an offseason workout bonus of $100,000 for which he almost certainly will not meet the qualifications. In 2004, the final season of his current deal, his base salary is $2.9 million and he is due a $100,000 roster bonus....ESPN

No way TD forks that kind of cash over for a 2nd or 3rd reciever on this team.

Don't get me wrong- I love the concept and Horn is a player.... but it just doesn't seem logical... but then again McGahee doesn't sound logical either.

Never say Never around TD!

I don't really see it happening even if Horn does want to be traded here. I don't know how high of a draft pick TD would be willing to give up for a player.

I don't think TD is willing to dish out a huge contract for another WR. Why do you think he didn't want to sign Price that bad?

PA Season Ticket Holder
05-04-2003, 10:23 PM
I don't see it posted on anything other Bills message board. You'd think if it was said there would be somebody on these board who would've seen it too.

ublinkwescore

Remember - HE supposedly wants to be traded here - which means he's probably willing to play for less money in a Bills Uni than in a Saints - I'm sure he knows what TD has done, and his agent has probably made him well aware of the fact that TD WILL NOT overpay for anyone.

Look at his career average over 1,300 yards - if he comes here he might (probably will) knock Moulds down to #2, and give the N.E. secondary the headaches that Moulds gives to the Dolphins secondary.

No way moulds becomes number 2. Moulds is a better receiver than horn, stats or not. Horn would likely be number 2.

Either way - I bet BB is $#!++!(\)g BRICKS as soon as he hears this.

Horn will have to take a good paycut. He wanted 8 mill a year from the Saints, which they would not give him. I'm not sure what they're offering - possibly 5 mill a year. I can imagine Donahoe offering the same. For a second round pick next year, I'd do it.

June 1st Cuts If he is unhappy with the saints maybe they CUT him and we get him for cheap

Kevikid
05-04-2003, 10:59 PM
June 1st cuts are mostly salary cap related. Horn has too much trade value to cut.

We better not trade for Horn ... otherwise i see no benefit to letting Price leave - Horn is going to want a new contract of similar value to Price's before showing up. Also, when changing teams, a player's performance can vary dramatically, so you would be more certain that Price was going to put up 1000+ yards than Horn would.

This will never happen! Horn is good but he is kinda old(33 or 34 I think) If we wouldn't give Price that kind of money why would we pay Horn that much?

True that. I don't see anything like this happening, Joe Horn is considered a Star WR. If he comes he will put up similar #'s to Price last year, i think Horn is BETTER then Price. I don't see him coming here though but Bledsoe/Moulds/Horn/Reed would be unreal just like last years offense except this years team defense is so much better.

I hope i am wrong though.

Hey TT, ya know what?

Horn just turned 31. Other than that, I agree w/ ya.

Horn doesn't fit in here besides. We don't need another starting WR, we need a WR who's good enough to play very often and fill in if either Reed or Moulds goes down.

Horn would want to start and Reed may even be better than Horn at this point. Also, if we may have difficulty resigning Winfield, then we surely shouldn't sign another WR to an already overly talent laden O.

Contrary to all that's happened this year, we still need OL depth and LB depth before we need star WRs. We do need WR depth, but Horn isn't depth. Neither is Reed. So he's not what we need so overpaying him isn't wise.

DraftBoy
05-05-2003, 01:50 PM
I agree with Wys on this one. We need LB depth and a speed WR, before we need a star WR and no LB depth. Horn is a huge ego. Dont know if this team could handle that. Many of you complained when Clements started trash talking, now you want Horn who is 10-20x worse?

Tatonka

why are we even discussing this??

this is about as likely as if someone came on the board and said.. "hey.. i think a friend of my cousins boyfriends uncle said that he heard brett farve is coming to buffalo.. what do you think?"

"oh, and i dont have any link or info regarding this, except that someone may have said something that sounded close to this on sportcenter.. but they may have been talking about horse racing.. i am not sure."
