Dwight Freeney won't be blind-sided by the attention he's likely to draw from offensive blockers during his second tour of the NFL.

Not only does the Indianapolis Colts' defensive end anticipate the inevitable, he welcomes it.

"I hope so," Freeney said while taking a break from the team's three-day minicamp, which concluded with a session at the RCA Dome Sunday afternoon. "That means they respect my game."

Freeney pried respect out of the opposition in 2002 one quarterback sack at a time. He finished with 13, a club record and the second most by a rookie in league history.

Now comes the unavoidable consequence: a bull's-eye on his back.

"He's proven to be a real disruptive player, causing fumbles and getting sacks," said veteran defensive end Chad Bratzke. "You've got to pay him some attention.
