Edwards is in the midst of his 2nd season. I will show where he stands against other QBs who have been in the league 2 years and less, and 3 years and less. Keep in mind, the point of this post is to show where Edwards stands at his young age, compared to other young QBs in the league.

Passing Yards: 2266 -- 15th overall in the NFL. Only Matt Ryan has more (2418) for QBs in the league 2 years or less. When it comes to being in the league 3 years or less Edwards is behind Jay Cutler as well, who has 3036, which places Cutler 3rd in the NFL overall. Notable QBs Edwards is ahead of: Jake Delhomme, Ben Rothlesberger, Tony Romo (has played 3 less games), Kyle Orton.

QB Rating: 86.6 -- 17th overall in the NFL. Only Matt Ryan's rating is higher (88.3) for QBs in the league 2 years or less. For QBs int he league 3 years or less Cutler is slightly ahead by 0.4 with a 90 rating. Peyton Manning has an 87.2 rating this year, 0.6 better than Edwards. Notable QBs Edwards is ahead of: Donovan McNabb, David Garrard, Rothlesberger, Delhomme.

Completion Percentage: 67.3% -- 6th overall in the NFL. Only Favre 70.6, Garcia 69.8, Warner 69.7, Schaub 67.8, Brees 67.5 have better completion percentages. Cutler and Ryan are at 19th and 21st with 60.6 and 60.0, respectively.

Yards per Attempt: 7.5 -- 9th overall in the NFL. Matt Ryan is at 7.8 and Jay Cutler is tied with Edwards. Notable players Edwards is ahead of: Delhomme, Cassel, Rodgers, Favre, Rothlesberger, Eli Manning, McNabb, Orton, Garrard, Campbell, Peyton Manning.

20+ Yard Plays: 32 -- 6th overall in the NFL. Only Brees 49, Cutler 39, Rivers 38, McNabb 36, Warner 35 have more. Matt Ryan is 9th with 30.

First Down Percentage: 36.0 -- 7th overall in the NFL. Only Rivers 40.7, Warner 40.2, Schaub 39.6, Pennington 39.0, Favre 37.8, and Brees 36.1 are better. Matt Ryan is 8th with 35.8.

This is from BB.com. Also when making the case for the teams that he beat, remember that Brett, Cassell and Pennington played the same teams.

Also when comparing Trent now to Trent last year when we thought he was our savior.

Here he is in 10 games last year.

70 rating, 56 cpt, 1630 yards, 7 TD, 8 int

This year in 11

86 rating, 67 cpt, 2266, 10 TD, 10 INT

Now for Losmans best year

84 QB rating, 62 cpt, 3051 yds, 19 TD, 14 int

Trents on verge for

3296 yds, 17 int, 17 TD, 84 QB rating, 66 cpt

In my wildest dreams I never thought this 3rd rounder would be as good as he's turned out so far!

I laugh at the idiots calling TE a bust! More than likely, it's the same group of geniuses calling Lynch a bust as well. But I guess they're right; after all we feature an All-Pro line up front.

Put Lynch in APs line and Lynch would already be a HOFer. Its amazing that he is still a 1,000 yd rusher when all his yards are after contact yards. Normally before he hits the line he gets hit and breaks the tackle.

I think Trent's overall season performance will be decided by how well he does in the second round of divisional games. At this point he's had some good games and some horrible games, so he's kind of in the middle of the scale.
He also still has to prove that he can play well in bad weather.

It's nice to win, and play well offensively, but they were 1-9.
Let's see him beat a divisional team in the snow, then I'll start to believe in him.

What does this have to do with the thread?

Im not all that impressed yet either. He has shown flashes of hope though. And he is still young. Way too early to tell if hes a bust though that I agree with

Win Playoff Game = Love Trent again
Not win playoff game = Not love Trent again

ALL else is just statistical gobeldegook

very true, although its nice to get the "growing pains" out of the way

barring health problems he should have a decent career whether he stays in buffalo, or would happen to go elsewhere

Even when Edwards threw his third pick against Cleveland I didn't worry if he was our long term answer at QB.

Edwards will be fine. I have more confidence in him now than at any other time since the Kelly era.

I knew Bledsoe was going to suck and I don't feel that way with Edwards.

Drew Bledsoe broke a ton of Jim Kelly's records in his first year here. It got us no where.

I don't care if Trent has a Dilfer like season as long as he's leading us to a sb.

individual stats don't mean squat if the team is at home for the playoffs again.
