I know McGahee is in a different category because of his injury, but here's what 2 recent 23 picks got:

Napolean Harris - 5 yrs/7 mil including 3 mil signing bonus.
Deuce McAllister - 6 yrs/6.2 mil including 3.9 mil signing bonus.

Both of those look like very manageable cap #'s throughout the duration of the contract. If McGahee recovers, he could be a steal cap-wise in the latter years of the contract.

look for McGahee to get a little less with a significant bonus should he become the starter.

definitely. he should cost around 2mil if he's a 5 year signing. I hope they get him to sign for 5 or 6 years instead of the 4 that so many do.

i think a contract like DM's with a lower signing bonus but a big bonus if gets more than 200 carries in a season or something like that would do well for both parties.

I have a feeling the Bills are going to want a 6 year deal because he may miss the first 2 because of the injury and if he signed a 4 year deal he would be a FA way too soon.

that's exactly what I'm thinking too.
