JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Tests on Jacksonville receiver Donald Hayes' injured right knee revealed no ligament damage, coach Jack Del Rio said Saturday.
Hayes, slotted to start opposite Jimmy Smith for the Jaguars this fall, injured his knee Friday, the first day of the team's three-day minicamp. Tests showed it was only a sprain, Del Rio said.
Hayes will miss the team's final practice Sunday, but Del Rio said the six-year pro will be ready when training camp opens in July.
Hayes signed with the Jags as a free agent in March. He was released by New England in February after a disappointing season in which he caught only 12 passes after signing a deal with a $1.2 million signing bonus.
