View Full Version : I'd like Trump to own the Bills.......

He had ownership interest in the houston gamblers when Jimbo was there and he obviously has massive connections to huge money. Trump could put his version of the "big-time" on the Bills and actually raise the bar all around Buffalo with a aggressive commercial approach / casino mix. Obviously Trump is able to bring all those aspects to the area and would put the Bills in a "Big time" arena. Jerry Jones cannot match up with the Don, nor could anyone currently in the league.

When Trump talks, people listen, so keep your fingers crossed.

He should be able to leverage the buy against his real-estate holdings. I'm sure he's doing extremely well in this market.

when he's been putting his businesses in bankruptcy in the early 90's. i think he was close to calling personal bankruptcy as well at one point.

if he can step in and keep them in buffalo, great. But don't forget that Trump's medling in the USFL sped up the demise of the league. he's a two headed beast. he could save us, but he could screw us as well.

i would hope if trump is involved he's just a smaller player and that someone else like Rich or Jacobs was the majority owner.

No way in hell Trump would buy the Bills, much less keep us here. He is a business man and it would be bad for his business. The only way we stay in Buffalo down the road is if a group of investors who LOVE the Bills buy the team.

Between him and his friends combined, they could buy Buffalo outright for cash. Trump also has his way of putting his spin on things and could film his TV show here and do all kinds of cool stuff.

I have met with and talked with him extensively. Excellent mind and brilliant clear thinking is a way to describe him, very intense and intelligent as well.

Would your definition of screw be missing the playoffs for all this century or selling the team to the highest bidder upon death?? That's our current situation.

Trump's best skill is self-promotion. If he buys the Bills, the story will be more about him than the team -- similar to Cuban but an order of magnitude or two worse. If he's the last resort to keep the team in Buffalo, fine. Otherwise, I'd really prefer another owner(s).

Besides, Trump is way too pompous to buy a team like Buffalo. I also seriously doubt Trump has anywhere near enough liquid assets to buy the team outright.

no doubt, the current situation sucks, but i'm saying that trump may bring his own issues into this. Trump never comes off as a guy like golisano who wanted to do good for the community and let someone else run the show.

i don't think trump is a football guy, but i would fear he'd be like a dan synder who is willing to spin his wheels for years as the team stinks. True, we are already there and maybe some high profile things would be a nice change of pace.

but i'd really like to see the larger group of investors running to kelly's tune. kelly has embraced buffalo. i think he wants the best for the area and has personal feelings invested like the fans.

trump, i don't think is willing to be a team guy when he's always been a me guy

That douchebag does not have enough money to buy a professional sports franchise.

If he did, his pompous ass would've purchased one already solely for the attention he'd get.

What if Trump is Kelly's guy ??

like i said, if trump is kelly's guy, then great for the short term. we'll keep the bills here. but i feel like he'll be the guy who'd say, "i need this team to be viable or else i'm taking it." the new ownership in my mind has to stop this "hostage situation". I don't want to keep hearing how the team is going to move. next owners make a commitment to the aread for the next 15-30 years with their lease stadium deal.

As for trumps dealings with the team, if he simply wants a box and the camera's to pan to him every now and then, and let kelly run the day to day operations. great. if he wants to be jerry jones and wants to hold coaches accountable by standards that are unrealistic and more fit for the apprentice, then i feel like we are just swapping ralph out with a much younger ralph.

and while it keeps the team here, it'll keep the team a mess like it currently is.

No way. Trump is a bozo and has created a false mystique about how great of a businessman he is. The guy's been living off of Daddy's empire for years. I would bang his daughter though.

No friggin way.

The guy has too many other projects to devote adequate time to the Bills, which may actually be a good thing because he'd have to put a football guy in charge almost out of necessity. And he wouldn't mettle like Ralph, Snyder, Jones etc do.

But he has no allegiance to the Buffalo area and he's the kind of guy who would have no problem making cutthroat business decisions like moving the team. We need an owner whose interests are aligned with the fans in terms of winning and keeping the team in Buffalo. I don't know if we'd get that from Trump.

It's funny to hear all about winning & keeping the team in Buffalo & then realizing that the current owner has 0 care about keeping the team in town with his highest bidder deal. He is also not willing to pay for the proper management / coaching staff to allow the team to even make the playoffs.

Let's all stop with the deal loyalist owner that only wants to love Buffalo BS, it's true fantasy at it's core. Every new owner in the NFL is a meglomanic with greed and future dollar earning in mind.

I wouldn't say he has zero care. If he did, the team would be gone by now.

That held water 10 years ago. You make a statement that the highest bidder takes the team upon death, the team can end up anywhere.
