Because Im a nice guy like that Ill provide some reference material to big boards and where players are slated right now;

Gresham/Maybin/Orakpo based on needs....

Crabtree/Maualuga based on want...

Somehow I'm sure we'll manage to get none of the above.

Id actually argue Crabtree and Rey could be needs too.

I dont think Maybin declares as only a RS-Soph, and Im a little shocked Scouts Inc has him so high.

I also like Aaron Curry around 13 too. I dont like Maualuga before 15 though, neither he nor Laurinaitis have shown me near enough to warrant high selections.

In previous years, it seemed like there was one big priority in the draft ("we need a big DT" or "we need a big WR", etc.)

After this whole debacle it's hard to even think like that - I for one don't even know where to begin - it's sad really.

Maybin or Orakpo, it doesn't matter what new scheme we will hopefully be running, we need a pass rush, BAD!

I think DE is a very high priority for us, I do agree with everybody there. I just really started to work on the DE class for this next draft, it looks promising so far.

u know what at this point its impossible to to even think who we are drafting.

however!!!!!!!

this franchise truly needs to switch to a best player available thought process in the draft. i think we have been drafting based on need way to much over the last 10 years and its showing on the field!

best player available is the only thought this team needs from now on.!!!

Didn't Crabtree announce he was staying in school next year?

Not exactly, he told a website he was coming back and then a day later his Dad said he was learning towards entering the draft. There is a thread in the Scouting Zone about it.

Who are your early favorites? I originally liked Michael Johnson...but I'm worried why he isn't as big a force as I think he should be at this point...

With Stroud only having a few years left and McCargo essentially gone, I'm wondering if I should prefer someone like Peria Jerry instead (???)...but our DEs are so mediocre, that I just have to favor improvement there...

DE and LB are top on the list but their not even close to our #1 priority. Our defense hasn't been the greatest but they've been holding their own no matter how much the offense has handicapped them.

We need a legit center immediately. I don't care if it's the draft or FA but I'm tired of getting abused by DT's in both the running and passing game. No LB or DE will make up for that.

No big deal Thurm, that's what I'm here to do.

I generally agree with the whole OL/DL thought however the top 3 OT's (Smith, Oher, and Monroe) are all LTs and whether you like Peters or not he's not going anywhere.

DL wise you could go end or even DT. That will depend a lot on our coaching staff come next April if we are running a 3-4 scheme you could us go DT and maybe take Cody from Alabama or go after a Hybrid like Selvie from South Florida. If we stay in our 4-3 we will likely go DE or OLB. I think any of Orakpo, Johnson, Hardy or Maybin would work for us.

Lastly let me address this OC thing. Never in the history of the NFL has there been an OC worth a top 15 pick, never will be either. Not even everybodies love child Nick Mangold is worth a 15th or higher overall pick. In this class nobody compares to Mangold. So please stop thinking we are going OC in Round 1. Its not going to happen and if it did we would be looked at like idiots across the NFL.

Since it's Buffalo, who's the top RB available?

/sarcasm

Top DE would be nice.

Do we even want to revisit my persistent nagging of how few OL this team has drafted since Ruben Brown? At one point, and I think they still have, they had drafted more TE since 1995 than OL.

Best DE or interior O-Line available...move up or down to ensure we are not picking for need but getting the player in the right spot.

Anyone here who doesn't think that DE isn't our #1 priority is absolutely nuts.

Kelsay, Denney, Schobel and dog turd after that.

How many sacks do we have from the DEs this year? 5?

Than some larger LBs that suck at special teams so they only can play defense.

We have 3 decent DTs so I'm not sure why people keep going there when our DEs are this pathetic.
