That little can't own 2 major sports franchises in the same city NFL rule might be showing us a preview of our new Bills owner:

That's not an NFL rule. As long as they're in the same city, he can own them both.

Isn't it an NHL rule?

Judging by what he's done to the Sabres - penny pinching us from a Stanley Cup contender to a very average club - I'm not sure he'd be any better than Ralph.

But at least he'd keep this bastion of mediocrity in Buffalo.

Skoobs is speculating anyway. The article gives no indication whatsoever regarding Golisano's intentions with the Bills.

It could be that he's just ridding his assets of an entertainment business now that the economy sucks and people have less discretionary income.

that link really makes it seem like Golisano doesn't like the NHL as a business. And who can blame him. We're paying more per ticket to watch a team that scores less than the Bills do at this point.

This is a league that will suspend a "sloppy seconds" Avery, but let thugs who crack people in the head play the next day. The NHL, from a different Jim Kelley article, says that several teams are in tough situations based on the economy. It even said that the rumor is that Atlanta may be short on payroll if things keep playing out the way they do.

I don't think Golisano is long for the Bills.
