-Toni ****ing Lydman! I'm not a big fan but the guy came to play all night. He made some great defensive stops and visibly frustrated both Crosby and Malkin. That was a big-time performance.
-Miller was great.
-Gaustad's crappy skating led to the second goal but he played tough after that and never gave up.
-Vanek is looking good.
-Gerbe only made one obvious rookie mistake when he kept the puck instead of shooting it and his size did not seem to be a problem.
-The Sabres make too many passes, especially when guys like Mair are on the ice. The 1st and maybe the 2nd line will get away with an extra pass on occasion, but they need to watch that.
-PK- what a job. A FULL 2 min 5-on-3 with Crosby and Malkin shut down? BRILLIANT.
-Two bench penalties? Come on, Lindy.

Miro Satan. He looked like garbage.
-The officiating was pretty bad. I can't believe they called the delay of game on Vanek after the Penguins player cross-checked him back on the puck. Then they called some cheesy interference penalty seconds after Numminen got boarded. And at one point they called 7 or 8 in a row against Buffalo. The zebras did their best to get the NHL's poster children a win on national TV but Buffalo came to play.
-the VS announcers sucked, as usual. In the pre-game, they wouldn't shut up about how Malkin and Crosby are leading the league in points but didn't even mention that Vanek is tied for the league lead in goals. They had at least 2 graphics showing their point totals, yet nothing on Vanek. They kept using cliches like "picks up the loose change" all friggin night. And every time the puck went deep into the near boards, the camera got all choppy. Oh well, at least I got to see it.
