Last season when the Georgia Bulldogs were left out of the BCS title game Georgia lawmakers cried foul and wanted to pass a bill to eliminate the BCS completeyly since they were left out they wanted to cry about it and apparentlly these senators think that this is the most pressing issue in thier respective states.

Well enter the new crying and that is Senators from Texas now crying that there should a be a bill passed to eliminate the BCS. Look we have bigger issues to worry about then the BCS.

WASHINGTON (AP) - Taking aim at a BCS system he said "consistently misfires," a member of Congress planned to introduce legislation Wednesday that would force college football to adopt a playoff to determine the national champion.

Rep. Joe Barton of Texas, the ranking Republican on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, didn't specify what sort of playoff he wants — only that the BCS should go

Yup just trying to distract people from the problems of thier respective state. I like how all of the sudden the government thinks they can step in and tell sports leagues how to run thier leagues. I bet this guy would not complain if Texas got into the championship game.

If UT would of beat TTU like they should have then this wouldn't even be a issue. But they didn't so STFU texas.

Does congress really have any power in this case? Could the legislation actually create an enforceable law?

A playoff system is overdue in college football, I dont care whos making the fuss, it should get done.

Im saying it should be 8 teams, 3 weeks. The BCS can pick the 8.
