The Bengals apparently are looking for more depth at defensive end in a pair of veteran free agents.

The team has been in contact with agents for former Dallas end Peppi Zellner and former Kansas City end Duane Clemons.

A Zellner visit could occur any day. He has 15 starts in 43 games with six career sacks for the Cowboys over the past four seasons. A visit was thought to be set for Monday, but Bengals coach Marvin Lewis said Zellner was not here.

Zellner, 28, is 6-feet-5, 262 pounds and was a fourth-round draft pick in 1999 by Dallas. He is regarded as a strong run stopper.

Clemons, 6-5, 270, had his contract terminated Feb. 28 by Kansas City. He played in 44 games for the Chiefs with 41 starts over three seasons.
