You have the lead...you have the ball. You have two minutes and six seconds to kill off, in order to preserve your first road victory since Reagan's second term.

It's second and 5. Your running backs have had a tremendous day, and your star back just ran for five yards on first down, before the opponent wasted one of it's time outs.

So what do you do?

A. Play the percentages, and keep the ball on the ground?

B. Let your backup QB, who has done nothing in his 5 year career except turn the ball over, drop back and pass?

You know, I gotta wonder if the fact that we have had to suffer through the gadget plays and plays that fly in the face of football logic over the last 10 years are a product of Wilson meddling?

Think about it. The AFL was know for its passing and its trick plays. I could see Ralph whispering in his Coaches ear:

"Hey ____________ (Insert losing coach's name here) let's make it fun out there...Let's give 'em a show. Run a dozen trick plays a game. "It'll be fun, like back in the old AFL, when I was in my eighties 40 years ago!" Who knows... maybe we'll even catch 'em off guard!"

I keep it on the ground... but then I'm a pretty conservative play caller.

If i do pass... i make sure the O-line knows that if anyone beats them off the snap, they tackle the guy and the quarterback knows that if he fumbles or throws an int, or even an incompletion he will walk home.

At this point in the season, I would put the ball in Loserman's hands and hope that he gets us a better draft picks.
