Do we make the playoffs if the following didn't happen?

Not to defend Jauron because the coaching staff blew two games and he sucks but do we make the playoffs if:

1) Crowell doesn't go on IR

2) DiGorgio doesn't go on IR

3) Schobel isn't lost for most of the season

4) Reed doesn't get hurt and starts our downturn on offense

5) Butler doesn't get hurt slowing up our running game

6) Yobouty goes on IR after being our best hitter

7) Greer doesn't get hurt

8) Edwards doesn't miss almost 4 games

No. Injuries hurt, but ours were no worse than most teams. Jauron's abysmal game day coaching still would have sunk our ship.

I don't think the losses of Reed, DiGorgio, Butler, Yobouty and Greer should be reasons for the teams collapse - all are decent players but hardly game changers.

The absence of Crowell and Schobel is more significant in that they, along with Stroud, are the Bills three best defensive players. Of course, if the front office knew what they were doing Crowell would probably be playing right now.

Edwards is obviously important, given the backup situation. I hope it is the concussion that caused his sharp decline in effectiveness but who knows. I am willing to give him another shot next season.

I think yes. If we don't have those injuries (but other teams still have the 'normal' amount) then we make the playoffs despite the coaching staff.

2 doesn't matter because DiGi wasn't playing on D even before he got hurt. 3, 5 and 8- we weren't any better when they did play.

6- Youboty's the 5th DB- he wouldn't have mad that much difference

1, 4, and 7- these had the biggest impact.

It's true, but injuries are part of the game. San Diego could say the same thing, if Tomlinson and Merriman weren't hurt/banged up all year...
