Denver would of much rather had JP in than Trent so I think that's why they went after him early on. They blitz the snot out of him and hit him late / often.
When you heard the announcers say I wonder why Denver isn't getting trying to get Trent anymore it was because he was torching them or they ran out of trouble. By the end of the game, old Trent from week 1-4 took over and rolled them. 4-4 / 95 yards in the 4th quarter.
