Jarron Gilbert DT. As a DT he had 9 sacks and 47 tackles 21 for a loss. Hes flat out a monster. 6-6, 290 pounds. Get this, hes projected to go in the 4th round!!! I say we get him and let him play along side Stroud.

Vids of him

if he is such a monster, why is he a 4th rounder?

His school. San Jose state. He did play Boise but never realy had much competition. If he did he probably would be a sure 1st round pick.

Mckelvin played at Troy and was a high first rounder. scouts normally see talent. There has to be more of a knock than that. dominant DTs dont last till the 4th unless there is some major knock on him.. no injury history? off the field issues?

290 on a 6'6 frame screams high motor. i'd stay away. he's another chris ellis in the wings.

Wait, are you actually questioning how big he is and his strength?

maybe he could be a decent DE in a 3-4 with his ability to sack the qb, some teams maybe interested

He played DT and DE on the team, so he could be more of a Justin Tuck type of player.

And don't forget Phat Pat was Undrafted...

We'll get to see what he can do agaisnt good players in the E-W Shrine Bowl.

Also your stats on him are off;
52 tackles, 22 TFL, 9.5 Sacks, 2 FF, 5 QBH, 3 PD

He was a full time DT this year, so he is very raw. Which is why he has a lower grade and he needs technique work and to add about 20 pounds. He's closer to 280 than he is to 290. But like somebody already said he could easily be a 3-4 DE.

He's much bigger than Tuck, I dont think he'll be the same kind of player.

Is he white or black? I ask because commentators and analysts have stereotyped all hard-working white football players into the "High Motor" category. You can add "lunch pal" to any sentence referencing high motor guys. In basketball this species are called "gym rats."

i didn't get to watch the video as i'm at work. i'm only questioning his size and strength based on where he plays on the field. I'm not questioning it if i ran into him on the street. Like DB said, he has to put on weight and if his technique is raw, i don't trust our coaches to "cook" him to the right temperature. They'll ask for 9 years to get him just right. Just in time for someone else to take him.

I know. I was only joking around.
