Actually, why not simply be a bit more allowing for the fast moving news and rumors?

I like the thought of a official news post to keep this stuff organized, but I dont see much wrong with running semi-rumors... saw it on the bottom line.

Theres a significant difference between something on the bottom line at ESPN and something some guy told a friend.

Its gonna be a long offseason, why not a bit of patience and tolerance... from one Bills fan to another.

No.

Seeing some thing on the bottom line, hearing it on the radio, or hearing it from sally bob's sister's cousin. Is not good enough, I need it in print from a reliable source. Unless I get that, its not getting put up in the top. This thread is not for rumors, could be's, or what do you think of's. Its for official news to keep it centralized and the board less cluttered.

Ohh, OK man... that sounds like a ton of fun.

And at X-mas time too.

This isnt a paper, no one gets paid for having accurate information. Its a fan board. No one wants BB.coms mess, but were talking about the bottom line on ESPN here, not some guys friend... You should be able to see the difference.

Part of being a fan involves the speculation in the offseason.

Whatever

Even though Bill Cowher has told friends that his plan is to sit out next season and then look for a coaching job in 2009, Woody Johnson could try to entice him with an offer of five years and $50 million.

Cowher is in perfect position to take Johnson for all the Band-Aid money he is willing to offer. Cowher, according to sources, has made it known that he would ideally like to wait another year before jumping into coaching again. Still, an offer of $50 million could make him change his mind.
No way in hell Paladin typed this, this is far from his MO. I think the owner/operator of the alias "Paladin Warrior" made a mistake when posting something not funny.

Mangini was in a no win situation.

The owner (Johnson) & GM (Tannenbaum) basically played fantasy football with the roster and signed name guys $$$ with injury/ability questions. Plus they forced the erractic/declining Favre on the coach. How well did he play down the stretch ?

I'm no fan of the 3-4 D but Mangini should be a HC somewhere next year. If he was smart, he'd go to college where his style would thrive. He's a very bright guy.

"Lerner has been granted permission by New England to interview Scott Pioli, the Patriots' vice president of player personnel who helped assemble three Super Bowl winners as coach Bill Belichick's right-hand man.....

As for his coaching search, Lerner said Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, a 32-year-old native of Canton, Ohio, was on his list and that he will likely contact Eric Mangini, who was fired Monday by the New York Jets. Mangini began his pro career as an intern with Cleveland in the 1990s.....

Lerner also expressed an interest in speaking with Bill Parcells if he leaves the Miami Dolphins. Floyd Reese, Charley Casserly and Tom Donahoe are other possibilities to become Cleveland's next GM. Lerner has also inquired about Mike Holmgren, who stepped down after 10 years coaching Seattle, and is planning to take a year off."

At least Cleveland is smart enough to try and get better. Buffalo on the other hand seems content on just playing in the NFL and mediocrity. The Bills are run like a bad fantasy football team. Every league has one or two owners that never make the playoffs and content playing in the league. Well the Bills are just like them...

Couple different coaching news items here...

http://blogs.nfl.com/category/adam-schefter/

St. Louis asked for and received permission Monday from Green Bay to interview Packers linebackers coach Winston Moss.

Colts coach Tony Dungy once was the Vikings defensive coordinator. Steelers coach Mike Tomlin once was the Vikings defensive coordinator. And now, Leslie Frazier is the Vikings defensive coordinator and drawing interest from around the league.

One year after Frazier interviewed for the Falcons and Dolphins coaching jobs, he has been asked to interview for the Lions’ vacant position.

ESPN stated (John Clayton) that Cowher was out because Johnson said Tannenbaum would be the GM and Cowher wanted his own personal guy.

Since than ESPN has changed their story 5 times.

Here is the word, the Jets asked Cowhers agent to talk, they agreed and will talk next week. Cowher has made no demands as of yet.

Cowher has a daughter that works in Jersey and his other daughter goes to school in Princeton which makes Jersey appealing to him.

Marty and Spagnulo are also strong canidates.
