Being reported on WFAN radio per John Clayton from ESPN.

Cowher wants his own personal guys and Woody said Tannenbaum is the GM

This could change with the outcry going on now.

Lets hope Woody stays firm with Tannenbaum!!!

We're not getting Cowher, so I don't care about that. But I'm VERY happy to hear he won't be going to the Jets.

Cowher is not interested in us (why the Hell would he be?), and Ralph is not interested in paying him $8 million per year.

If I understood the whole thing correctly, the bump in the road was that the Jets didn't wanna axe Tannenbaum? Seems kind of foolish if you ask me--to fire your coach and then not be willing to demote the GM who is more or less a Cap wizard. Especially if you also consider Cowher isn't going to bring in some bum, he's probably going to bring in one of the successful guys from Pittsburgh

The Jets aren't getting Cowher. Adam Schefter, whom I trust more than pretty much any NFL reporter, says Cowher will interview with the Jets only out of respect; there is no chance of him coaching again in 2009.

I wonder if people are slightly overrating Cowher.
