Bobby Taylor has a new pair of agents, and they'd like to get their client a contract extension with the Eagles before the start of the 2003 season.

The Pro Bowl cornerback hired Jason Medlock and Vincent Taylor (no relation) on Monday to replace Kennard McGuire, who works under the same umbrella as Donovan McNabb's agent, Fletcher Smith. Medlock said he'd like to begin negotiations with the Eagles as soon as possible.

"I believe they are interested in bringing Bobby back," Medlock said yesterday from his office in Houston. "Bobby is very excited about remaining an Eagle, but he wants to be compensated as one of the top corners in the league.

"After spending eight years with one team, I think he deserves to be compensated well for that. Having made the Pro Bowl for the first time, we really feel like Bobby has taken his game to the next level."

The highest-paid cornerback last season was Houston's Aaron Glenn at just over $9 million. Taylor, 29, ranked eighth among cornerbacks with a $3.75 million salary and is scheduled to make $4.1 million in 2003.
