Lets stop saying Jauron is a cheap option

For going 7-9 three years in a row and costing between $1.5MM and $2MM a year, he is an extremely expensive option. Turner gil works for $200k a year. Double his salary and i bet you you still get a 7-9 team.

So Bills Braintrust, how is Jauron the inexpensive choice?

Re: Lets stop saying Jauron is a cheap option

    I'll tell you how.

First, Jauron has a contract that Ralph would have to buy out. So, even if he found another guy to work for $1-2 million, he'd still be paying twice that much for the head coach.

Second, numbers like $9 million a year are being tossed around for Cowher. Jauron is one of the lowest paid- if not THE lowest paid- HC in the league.

So, that's how Jauron is the cheap option.

he is cheap. YOu can't grab a proven OC for 2 million which means we're most likely stuck with Turk or another unproven/inexperienced OC is coming.

but for the actual output that Jauron puts out, he's expensive. to waste the timeouts he's had, to miss on so many player personnel decisions, tosquandering so many close games, to simply getting outcoached at crucial junctures, he is expensive.

even skipping on Cowher, a coach for $4MM a year that actually takes care of the the 4 points above would be worth $4MM.

          see, that's cost-benefit analysis.

Ralph's analysis stops with the "cost" part.

He is one of the lowest paid coaches. He's right there with coaching legends like Marinelli and Kiffin.

Dick is pretty cheap. He's like the Milwaukee's Best of beers, only the "Beast" tastes much better than Dick.

the crazy thing is that andy reid, the 9 highest paid coach makes $3MM and change. Come on, in a multimillion dollar business, you can't pay someone $3MM and up the prices of the tickets by $10?

I'm sorry, but this is an absolutely ridiculous claim.
