James Laurinaitis-LB-Ohio State
http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n290/Smokiemicpot11/JamesLaurinaitis5.jpg
Height: 6'2
Weight: 240
40: 4.59
Pros:
-Size
-Speed
-Technique
-Motor
Cons:
-Shedding Blocks
-Blitzing
-Coverage
-Change of Direction
Overall:
If Laurinaitis had come out last year as some say he should of, he likely would of been a top 10 maybe top 5 pick. Not this year, his production slipped a little and he didnt not look nearly as dominant as he had in the past. What Laurinaitis does do well, is just play LB. He may be one of the best all-around LB's in the country. He has ideal size and speed for the MLB posistion in a 4-3 defense, his tackling technique is near flawless and his motor is the stuff that you only hear about from players way back when. While there are few flaws in Laurinaitis's game, they do still exist none the less. He needs to work on shedding the blocks of bigger offensive lineman once they get into him. He also needs to work on better Blitzing moves on the rush, along with just becoming more and more comfortable dropping into coverage. The only other real flaw in Laurinaitis's game is his change of direction skills, being as big as he is with that much speed. It's very difficult for him to stop on the dime like some of the smaller quicker backs can. Its a small flaw but one none the less.
Stats:
2008-130 Tackles, 7 TFL, 4 Sacks, 2 INT, 4 PD, 1 FF, 1 QBH
2007-121 Tackles, 8.5 TFL, 5 Sacks, 2 INT, 1 PD
2006-115 Tackles, 8.5 TFL, 4 Sacks, 5 INT, 2 PD, 3 FF
2005-9 Tackles, .5 TFL
Career-375 Tackles, 22.5 TFL, 13 Sacks, 9 INT, 7 PD, 4 FF, 1 QBH
Bowl Stats:
2006-15 Tackles, 1 PD
2007-18 Tackles
2008-9 Tackles, 1.5 TFL
