Obviously, after declaring the Falcons almost a "lock" last week, I'm not going to do that with any game this week.

But here are my picks for ths weekend, along with my breakdown of each game. These are the lines as of this morning.

Post yours, too.

ATS = Against The Spread.

My picks are mainly for point spread purposes, which is why I reference the spread in the breakdown, too.

I had BAL, ARZ, PHI with the spread. Have SD in this one.

Me? I went 3-1 vs. the spread. 2-2 straight up.

Oddly enough, I was correct on both AFC winners and wrong on both NFC winners. But I don't know many people at all who had Arizona winning.

I've read this a few times.

Arizona at Carolina (Carolina favored by 10)
First meeting: Panthers 27-23
The Panthers were the only team in the entire league to finish the regular season unbeaten at home (8-0). That includes a 27-23 win over the Cards back in week eight. The average score of those home games in favor of Carolina: 29-14. ...I like a relatively high scoring game here.
Sal's Pick: Panthers by 7

You picked the Panthers by 7. Spread or not how is that a win? Please explain. I'm not being nit-picky but you went 2-2.

Coach Sal actually went 3-1 against the spread (ATS), with Pittsburgh being his only wrong guess. Let me explain:

Since his pick was "Panthers by 7," that means he actually picked Arizona to cover the 10-point spread. The Cards simply had to do better than a 10+ point loss. The ONLY way Sal would have lost this bet is if the Panthers won by MORE than 10 points. Get it?

It's inconsequential that the Cardinals actually ended up winning the game. Sal would have won the "ATS bet" if the Cardinals lost by 9, or lost by 7, or even won by 50.

3-1 ATS for me too.

I'm sure everyone had the Cards hosting the NFC Championship game.

People that bet football and tell me they win are liars.
