TAMPA -- Practice was over Saturday at One Buc Place. Nearly all the Tampa Bay Bucs were off the practice fields, in the air-conditioned sanctuary of their locker room.

Not coach Jon Gruden.
Not rookie quarterback Chris Simms.
On the far field, the one nearly abutting one of Tampa International Airport's runways, Gruden was instructing Simms. He was demonstrating nuances of quarterback play, talking, gesturing and teaching. Simms was listening, like Luke Skywalker paying attention to Yoda.
It was one week to the day since Simms plummeted in the draft.
The former University of Texas quarterback had hoped to be selected on the first round. That didn't happen. He wasn't picked on the first round. Or the second round.
Thirty-one players were selected in the third round. Not Simms. He was simmering.
