A look back: Re-evaluation of the 2000 draft

Three years is the true judging point for any draft in these salary-cap days. Three is the magic number now because we can no longer wait five years to decide if a draft is a success as we once did before the salary cap. ( Hey Eb )

    Buffalo Bills

    2000 SportsLine.com grade: B.......2003 Grade for same class: D

Best pick: Fifth-round pick Sammy Morris has been a contributor at times in his career, although he didn't provide much last season.

Blown pick: The Bills were desperate for a pass-rusher and took Erik Flowers with the 26th pick in the first round. He has proved to be a major bust.

Comment: After looking at this draft, the Bills should get down on their knees and kiss the ground for bringing Tom Donahoe in as general manager.

I don't think Modrak was here for TD's first draft. Wasn't he still with Philly then?

yup, you are correct EE, he wasn't with us during the 2001 draft. He was fired in the beginning of May.

McGahee will rule (eventually ), Kelsay will make us forget about Erik Flowers and we'll get some surprises by the rest of our draft class. Prisco can eat my shorts.
