It's not about being an old fart. It's about hockey being hockey. If I want to see slutty chicks, I'll go to Hooters or watch basketball for the cheerleaders or get the SI Swimsuit issue or watch any cable station after 10 pm or go look up Internet porn. If I'm watching hockey, it's because I want to watch hockey. All that other stuff is a side show. It turns the game into a spectacle where it becomes less and less about the game itself, and more about the atmosphere surrounding the game.
