    Wants contract to be reworked

    With a contract tussle looming on the horizon, Clinton Portis had his say Thursday.

    On the eve of the Broncos' three-day minicamp, the second-year running back explained why he believes he deserves a reworked contract.

    "It's kind of hard to go in the locker room and see that you get $2,000 or $3,000 more than a rookie who just came and hasn't made any plays," Portis told KUSA Channel 9. "Or (there) are some guys who are just running down on special teams making more than you are."

    In July, the second-round draft choice from Miami signed a four-year, $2.65 million contract that included a $1.29 million signing bonus. But as is customary with the Broncos' contracts with second-round picks, there were no incentives built into Portis' contract.
