Eesh, what a fat bastard

I still think he can play, but his stock may have dropped beyond the draft. He may not be worth the xtra effort to keep his weight down enough to play.

Talk about jaba-the-Johnson

After LSU offensive lineman Herman Johnson (http://mia.scout.com/a.z?s=62&p=8&c=1&nid=3628784) tipped the scales at 382 pounds during Monday's weigh-in, one NFL scout noted that his team isn't the least bit interested even though Johnson is one of the top-rated players at the guard position. "We don't even have him on our sheet." he said. A number of team representatives seemed surprised that Johnson, who is listed at 351 pounds on the LSU Athletics website, was so much heavier. During Monday's practice, the weight didn't seem to be a hindrance, but he may need to drop a few pounds between now and the NFL Scouting Combine to show teams that his weight won't be a problem.

And then I found this:

Herman Johnson, G, LSU. At 382 pounds, he was the heaviest player at Monday's weigh-in. For the first time in a number of years, he actually looked good at his weight. He didn't look fat or flabby; he looked in shape and solid.

????

How in the hell can anyone be 382 and not look fat or flabby?

Aaron Gibson from Wisconsin played OT/OG at 420+ pounds...I guess Johnson could do it a 380.

I just have to think that the writer was using some wishful thinking there... How could he be 382 and long solid and strong?

Watching him play his weight never looked like an issue at all is all I can say about that. He is 6'7, so he could handle 350+ but 382 is quite a bit of weight, Id be happier with him around 360ish.
