Doesn't seem to be a blue chip DE with actual size to anchor against the run but a lot of standup OLB types who can rush the passer and cover a lot of ground.
Brian Orakpo of Texas is a 1st round talent in this mold. Everette Brown Of Florida St., Aaron Maybin of Penn St. & Cody Brown of UConn look like OLB's in the pro's. Throw in some of the natural OLB's and I see us easily getting a good one to eventually play the strongside this April.
Not so sure any of them are worth the #11 pick, outside of Orakpo. So if he's gone, then it's anyones guess what we pick.
I realize DE,OLB,C,DT,TE and other positions are big needs but you don't reach for the need. Trading up is a possibility but that's not something the Bills usually do.
This may be the draft we should accept an offer to back up and still find the OLB,C and maybe a passing rushing specialist later. Chris Ellis was just selected in Round 3 last year and the Bills won't give up on him at DE after his rookie season. I realize the Kelsay hate is alive & healthy but what do the Bills actually think about him, especially if Schobel can't get healthy ?
People are assuming DE early but if the talent isn't there, it will be another position and OLB is looking like a strong candidate. As long as they can develop into a good one, I'm fine with that.
