Height: 6'1
Weight: 261
40: 4.68

Pros:
-Athleticism
-Motor
-Pass Rush
-Production

Cons:
-Tweener
-Height
-Run D
-Technique

Overall:
Say what you want about Phillip Hunt playing at a smaller school, or not having ideal height, but the bottom line on this kid is that not only is he productive but that's he been consistently productive. Hunt was a force in C-USA due to his athleticism and effort. You will never see Phillip quit on a play. Here is the problem with Phillip despite all his production as a 4-3 DE in college, Im not sure he can play it well in the NFL. Im hesitant to say a guy who has outstanding athleticism but undersized attributes should be put at DE, and not move to a 3-4 OLB where technique is less important. Hunt must work on his play recognition skills and must work on his technique if he hopes to stay as a DE in the NFL.

Stats:
2008-52 Tackles, 18.5 TFL, 14 Sacks, 3 FF, 1 PD, 1 QBH, 1 Block
2007-55 Tackles, 18 TFl, 10.5 Sacks, 2 FF, 1 INT, 10 PD, 6 QBH
2006-51 Tackles, 9 TFL, 7.5 Sacks, 1 FF, 4 PD
2005-19 Tackles, 4 TFL, 1.5 Sacks, 1 FF, 3 PD, 2 QBH
Career-177 Tackles, 49.5 TFL, 33.5 Sacks, 7 FF, 1 INT, 18 PD, 9 QBH, 1 Block

2007-6 Tackles, 2 TFL, 1 Sack v. TCU
2006-7 Tackles, 1 TFL, 1 Sack v. South Carolina

Well, he sure has nice stats in bowl games.

Mitchell, I think you got pretty lucky by pointing him out, could be a nice pick.

Actually I like his size and measurables a lot. He seems like a Robert Mathis type which is exactly what our defense needs. Have a feeling his stock will rise after the combine though and he will become a late first, early second round pick.

6'1 260lbs running a 4.68... That's alot more like Dwight Freeney! He probably isn't on the same level but I sure wouldn't mind him in the 3rd.
