All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!

ALLEN PARK — Receiver Mike Furrey told reporters in Tampa Bay for Super Bowl XLIII that the Lions have informed him he will be released once the NFL calendar allows it next month.
Speaking to the Detroit News and Free Press, Furrey said Lions general manager Martin Mayhew spent Tuesday “calling the guys they were releasing” and he was one of them.
Personally I think adding a guy like Furrey would be a wise move for this franchise. He is an ideal #2 posession type WR with good speed and hands. He is willing blocker and will work the middle of the field. Only issue is that he suffered a concussion last year and had lingering symptons.
COMING SOON...

how much better than Josh Reed is Mike Furrey? Not enough, IMO.
I never seen Reed with anything close to 100 receptions... Furrey has proven he can be a #2. Reed hasn't. Im not married to the idea of signing Furrey, just saying he would be an upgrade.

For 1 it was a fluke season in a pass happy offense. The guy is almost 32 years old and coming off 2 injury prone seasons. He is NOTHING.

With Lions WR Mike Furrey to be released in the coming days, MLive’s Phil Zaroo tried to connect the dots with Furrey speculated to eventually sign with division rival Chicago, where not only is former coach Rod Marinelli now on the staff, but head coach Lovie Smith was on the Rams staff when Furrey was in St. Louis back in 2003.
In addition the Bears are reportedly going to cut ties with Marty Booker and Brandon Lloyd.
Furrey took shots at the Lions organization, but not Marinelli. He would be an interesting veteran consideration though for the Bills.
