1. Sabres were 9-4 in December, despite playing only 3 games at home and having a defense corps missing 3 regulars (Sekera, Teppo, Hank) and the top call up from Rochester (Weber) for parts of the month.

2. The 6 game road trip has 6 points already, and the 4 games on the WC has 4 points already. To me, that is acceptable. Not great, but OK. If they can get 1 or 2 points Monday, we should all be happy.

3. Butler was craptastic against Calgary and outstanding tonight. Great rebound for a young guy. He led the Sabres in ice time with 29:55.

4. In a couple of years, this teams strength wil be on defense. Sekera-Butler-Weber all should be very good. Brennan and Myers are well thought of prospects, especially Brennan (Myers is still real young but should be good to)

5. Kaleta came to play tonight. So did Ellis. Both played very well.

6. Timmah makes a big difference.

7. If Spacek is out for a period of time, that would suck too. Hecht would hurt as well, but not as much.

8. Let's hope they keep it up in February and March!

9. On the downside, they took too many penalties tonight, especially in the 3rd. The PK was great.

And don't forget Pearsson is thought of highly. The problem now is the injuries are starting to mount. If Spacek can't go that means they will be playing with defensemen #7, 9, 10 and 11 on the depth chart.

The Ref made a nice play on Connolly goal by not blowing that play dead too quickly...He got in position to make the (not make) the call

Roy made a world class play on the 2nd goal.

The Refs could have made a few calls on the Coyotes in the 3rd period especially when Connolly stole that puck.

Hecht being out will not hurt this team at all. He has been brutal all year and hasn't even been a factor...defensively or offensively.

I was sitting on the crapper this morning, and pondering. To be in a playoff spot after such a road-weary stretch is great for this clu.

We'll agree to disagree on the defensive part.

He is on the top forward line of a top 5 PK unit. He has to be doing something right.

Not only do they still have a playoff stop, they actually got closer to Philly.
