I tell you what, if Edgerrin gets going the Cards have a shot. Especially if Kurt doesn't have to throw for 3-400 yards.

I am pretty sure it is illegal but it never gets called. Like in the USC vs Texas championship game a few years ago.

they haven't called that for years...you can pull the runner, push him from behind, etc. I don't know if they have taken the penalty out of the rule book.

Mr. Pink
02-01-2009, 09:17 PM
I will now refuse to watch another SB that the Steelers are a part of.

Can the refs be any further biased towards them in the big game?

I thought the game vs Seattle, a few years back, was bad, but holy crap.

I suppose you think the penalty for roughing the passer was legit also.

Mr. Pink
02-01-2009, 09:24 PM
I suppose you think the penalty for roughing the passer was legit also.

Or the penalty on Wilson, who was knocked off balance by a Steeler blocking him, stumbling into the holder was legit.

That entire drive on that FG score was littered with BS calls.

SquishDaFish
02-01-2009, 09:26 PM
There is always close questionable calls in a game both ways. I think the announcers know more then you guys and they didnt say any of the penaltys were bad calls.

Ingtar33
02-01-2009, 09:28 PM
they both were hit with a lot of ticky tack penalties.

lest you forget, the Steelers TD drive was started with a BS holding call... how many times do you see a team get a TD on a drive starting with a holding penalty?

Or how about the real weak safety penalty? If i was a Steeler fan i would have been livid about those calls.

As to the last play... the refs and replay obviously saw what i saw. which is the ball moved in his hand before his arm started to go forward. that's called an "empty palm".. and it's a fumble. It wasn't even that close.

That said, good game. but this was just like every other Steelers game this year. closer then it should have been. You have to take your hat off to them though. they played an insanely difficult schedule this year. I don't think there is any doubt in the regular season they were the best team.. or at worse one of the top 2 teams.

Dr. Lecter
02-01-2009, 09:29 PM
The roughing call was bad, no doubt.

That was a fumble. He was hit from behind and started to thrust his arm forward after the ball was coming out.

IT was a fumble plain and simple. And the announcers said the man upstairs looked at it and said it was a fumble. It was loose before his hand went forward.

Meh. I see what you meant now, but much has been let go before.

Regardless, the officiating was not bad. The fumble was a fumble (unless Warner is liar).

The roughing call was BS though.

I hate games that have so many questionable calls.

I saw some really ticky tacky calls go against Arizona but I dont think officiating was atrocious either.

Reffing can never be blamed for a loss, you can always do something different in your play to change the outcome. You should play as if every wrong thing you do, is going to be called.

It must be nice to have a Super Bowl handed to you because you're the Steelers. 11 penalties for 106 yards, most for awful calls that ended up giving the Steelers a free shot at scoring. The Cards played a fantastic game, but the Steelers got the Golden end of the **** stick.

Whatever, give the Steelers another ring, we'll be here next year.

That's complete crap. Pittsburgh deserved to win that game, Arizona lost because they threw the pick to Harrison that went for a TD. Plain and simple, Warner misread the Harrison blitz went to his hot read and got picked and that was your difference right there.

I'm not a big fan of either. Bruce is pretty damn flexibile for an old fart tho, I give him props. My sister was sitting there saying "I know that yoga stance!"
