All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
There is work to be done and things to be learned. We are going to try to get the old look back - or something close to it. We also know there are bugs. A thread will be started to report bugs and then we can pass those onto the host.
Thank you for all the patience and support with this - hopefully this will greatly reduce the crashes and other site issues we have had lately.
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

One thing that bothers me: None of them are particularly tough. Well, I don't really know anything about Pearson or Brennan, but Myers is a beanpole and none of the others have shown that mean streak that the Sabres desperately need.

Weber is pretty damn tough and has a nasty streak to him.

Weber definitly has grit.
Butler is not a pushover.
Brennen is supposed to have an edge
Myers is like 19 years old. He will fill out trust me. From what I heard from the world Juniors he was delivering big checks all tourney.
Pearsen/Gragnani are puck movers.
Sekera is in the Campbell mold.
They definitely have some good young talent. I would trade one or more in a package to get a proven, veteran defenseman that brings more stability to this lockerroom. It's definitely a nice situation to be in.
Butler is young, but he has looked absolutely horrible the last couple games. I have never seen any D man play as bad as Butler did in the Calgary game.

One real bad game. I have seen players have just as bad a games back in the day.
we need guys who can MAKE the hits, not absorb them.
Mike Weber
Talent Analysis
A tough, defensive-minded player that can make the long pass out of his own zone. He has a hard shot and takes pride in finishing his checks. He has improved his offensive game to a respectable level, and did not look out of place in a scattering of NHL games last season

Talent Analysis
Brennan is a very good athlete with size, but is still developing in the technical aspects of the game. He was an accomplished high school lacrosse player, and did not focus solely on hockey until 2006. Based on his background, he is a fluid skater, but still needs to improve moving in the close quarters of the defensive zone. He brings a hard shot and ability to pinch in on offense, allowing him to contribute on the power play. His talent, physical style of play, and willingness to learn make him a well-rounded prospect with a good amount of upside

on the whole, he hasn't been that bad, but he was brutal in that Calgary game. He made mistakes that I used to chew guys out for making on my rec roller hockey team back in HS. That's just inexcusable.
